Some lively words from Paul and the Ponco People:
- Abrupt
- sudden and unexpected.
- Astute
- clever at noticing and understanding things.
- Blarney
- charming or amusing talk that may not be entirely true.
- Bravado
- a display of courage, especially when someone is secretly afraid.
- Catastrophe
- a sudden and serious disaster. A PoncoCatastrophy is usually louder, wetter and more enjoyable to the Poncos.
- Chlorophyll
- the green substance plants use to capture energy from sunlight.
- Curiosity
- a strong desire to discover or understand something.
- Debate
- a formal discussion in which different ideas are presented.
- Defiant
- boldly refusing to give in.
- Deluge
- a great flood or heavy fall of rain.
- Extricate
- to free someone or something from a difficult place.
- Fluorescent
- unusually bright and colourful.
- Glitch
- a small fault that causes a machine or plan to behave unexpectedly.
- Indigo
- the deep blue-violet colour between blue and violet in a traditional rainbow.
- Invention
- a new device, method or idea. The Poncos prefer PoncoVention because it sounds more important.
- Nonchalant
- appearing calm and unconcerned.
- Petrified
- extremely frightened, as though turned to stone.
- Ploy
- a clever plan designed to gain an advantage.
- Radiant
- shining or glowing brightly.
- Sceptical
- not easily convinced that something is true.
- Transparent
- allowing light through so objects on the other side can be seen.
- Unanimous
- fully agreed by everyone.
- Venture
- a journey or action involving uncertainty and risk.
- Wits
- the ability to think and respond quickly.
